Ethical Recruitment

UK Code of Practice engages every participant in the recruitment process in ethical recruitment.

The recruitment of healthcare professionals is approved by the WHO to maintain the ethicality of the process.

Find out on the World Health Organization website if your country is on the list for ethical recruitment in the UK. Or contact us and we can help you.

One of the points, mentioned in The Code of Practice, you need to know when you are being recruited for a health care job is about the complete information for the position, this includes:

  • Job description
  • Person specification
  • Grading structure
  • Salary
  • Location

Another important point stated in the Code of Practice is that the recruiter will not charge you any fee for finding you the job.

There will be some particular costs involved but these are legal requirements. For more information read the next articles or contact us for support.

Equal treatment work environment

Working in the UK medical system as a health care professional gives you the right to be treated equally to other local health care professionals.

This means you have the same contractual rights, payment scheme, the personal development plan for growing your medical career.

On the way to a new country, you can take your family with you. Governmental regulations apply, ask for more details, in the contact section.

Knowing the English Language

To obtain a health care job it is required to have a good knowledge of the English language to communicate with patients, colleagues and other people involved in the health care system.

The standard of English is demonstrated to the GMC (General Medical Council) by having satisfactory scores in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or satisfactory scores at the Occupational English Test ( OET).

There will be no need for IELTS or OET  tests, if:

– in the last 2 years the candidate has the qualification evidence from the primary medical school taught and examined in English.

-has worked in an institution in a country where the English language is the first and the native language.

-sends a copy of the job offer received for working in the UK, together with the “reference form” signed by the NHS organization, but it must have IELTS or OET.

Non-EEA countries also need to pass the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Boards (PLAB) TEST to demonstrate they have the skill and knowledge to practice medicine in the UK.

*EEA stands for European Economic Area

Non-EEA  refers to countries outside this area
